BRX01 AWB Leaf Chassis

The BRX01 AWB Leaf (Adjustable Wheelbase) is a new variant of the popular BRX01 chassis, featuring a full leaf spring suspension setup and a wheelbase adjustable from 265mm to 285mm or 10.4" to 11.2". It is equipped with the robust BCF2™ two-speed transmission and divorced B2X™ transfer case, connected by a high-efficiency output shaft originally introduced in the BRX02 88 chassis. This drivetrain layout simplifies the build process and reduces play for improved efficiency and smoother operation.

At its core, the BRX01 AWB runs on the proven BRX80 PHAT™ axles, with an all-new C-hub and knuckle design using kingpins and brass bushings for enhanced durability and long-term performance. The axles use our popular proprietary AR44 heavy-duty hardened steel triangular keyed bevel helical cut 30/8T diff gears, with the same but reversed cut gears in the rear axle. The rear axle counter-rotates, which results in near-zero torque twist for chassis stability.

Heavy-Duty Shafts

The BADASS™ heavy-duty front and rear steel axle shafts and KUDU™ center CVD driveshafts are durable, smooth, and capable of high articulation angles. KUDU™ driveshafts are rebuildable and have become the standard drive shaft for all Boom Racing vehicles.

Suspension

The suspension system features front and rear leaf springs, front and rear anti-wrap bars, and high-performance, scale-accurate KUDU™ 70mm oil-filled dampers.

Each leaf spring set has a master leaf with three graduated leaves for suspension stability and adjustability. You may use up to four leaves for adjusting the rebound rate. Anti-wrap bars attached to the front and rear axles prevent axle twists, and realistic shackle bolts are included for the scale realism factor.

Optimized for scale performance, the KUDU™ Scale Shock Absorber features billet aluminum cylinder body for durability, steel shock shaft with titanium nitride coating, plastic pivot retainers (replaceable) for smoother swivel movements, high-degree pivot angle for high-angle articulation, and double X-Ring oil seals. It comes with cylinder and friction seals to prevent leaks and contaminants from entering. The bump stop provides an additional level of bottoming control, stainless steel pivot balls for stainless, corrosion-resisting pivot rotation, and an aluminum pivot ball tool included for hassle-free maintenance.

Adjustable Wheelbase

Adjusting the wheelbase on the BRX01 AWB Leaf chassis is simple and modular. Only two components are required: chassis rails and a rear center CVD driveshaft.

For longer wheelbase setups, optional XL and 2XL rear aluminum chassis rails allow you to extend the chassis across a wide range, making it easy to tailor the build to different bodies and scale requirements.

The chassis is ready for an internal servo winch by installing the optional Servo Winch Mount Kit for BRX01 AWB & BRX01 (#BRLC70227).

Waterproof

Is this kit waterproof? The short answer is yes! The BRX01 AWB is capable of being submerged in water. The receiver box is designed to be fully waterproof with rubber seals all around to protect your receiver from water. We've included a fully waterproof JX high-voltage mini shift servo for the BCF2™ 2-speed transmission. The axle gears are fully greased, with extra silicone and black graphite grease provided for maintenance and protection against water corrosion. Add your own waterproof electronics to make it fully waterproof.
